Pimp my wolf !

Ho Ho Ho!

Christmas is here and even had a present for me in stock: Time for myself - hooray!

For a very very long time now there are several Thunderwolves who still plead for some paint to grace their sorry hides.

Here a picture of the first Thunderwolf I converted and painted for my Great Company of Sven Bloodhowl        (Sven Eisklaue in the German Codex):

The mount for my second rider is painted already:

I started the conversion of the rider in march, or so, but never found the time to finish it. Now I really felt like finishing this venture and gave it a go yesterday.
To me the Thunderwolf riders are the elite of the elite, recruiting from the ranks of the Wolfguard.
As such I wanted my rider to look like a bear of a man, all hairy and hirsute, with bushy beard, long wavy hair with braids and such, much like a wolf-riding viking in power armour.

That is what came out:

The miniature itself is a potpourri of parts from several different Games Workshop boxes:
The legs are from normal Space Marines, converted to be looking like riders legs and then beeing given stirrups.
The chestpiece is taken from a Chaos Space Marine, the backpiece with the wolfpelt is from the old Space Wolves Accessories Frame, which is still availlable.
The shoulderpads and head are from the current Space Wolves Box, as is the bolt pistol. I removed the hair from the head and resculpted it to my liking. A necklace was added in a dynamic pose for some sense of movement.
The chainsword is again taken from a Chaos Space Marine (surely a trophy from the last encounter with the weak Thousand Sons, hrhr...).
The backpack finally is a standard one with one selfmade wolftail and one from the afore mentioned Space Wolves Accessories Frame.

In the days to come I plan to paint the rider in my scarce spare time so that the finished one will have a stout companion to empty some kegs with...

Cheers,

Gregor

Peaceful and contemplative Advent season?

Well, at least not for me. :-)

Not that I am not used to lots of work before Christmas - was like that every year back when I had been dental technician - but who would have guessed that it is quite the same in the miniatures business?

Having finished a commission for Freebooter Miniatures I still have lots of stuff to do for Tabletop Art and MaxMini, another conversion  for a private customer and not to forget my own range.

So no boredom for me it seems.  ;- D

Nevertheless, I announced to show some pics of the first technoservant in resin, so there you are:

Now the version with the gun and alternative hand:

Observant ones might have noticed that I resculpted the miniature a bit. I added about a millimetre to the bottom as the legs were a tad to short. I could have added more, but I did not want to make the servant too large.

Ok, that's it so far. Can't really say what I am going to show next, but I guess it will be conversion works.

Till then all the best for you out there,

Gregor

Come here and get some!

That is, what I think upon seeing this Dreadnought.
Straight into the face of the enemies of the Emperor and mankind.

Well, finally it is done and I am rather glad.
Glad with the outcome and glad to have it finished. ;-)

Some impressions:

On to new projects.

Next I will show the resin master of the Technoservant No.1

Next step for the Dwarfs and Dread

Hi everyone

Yesterday I visited my friend Stefan from MASQUERADE-Miniatures and there started the next step for my coming miniature range.

I produced the silicone moulds for making the resin masters and then did cast them.

Here is what the Dwarfs look like:

Furthermore I finished the front of the shield for the Contemptor Dreadnought Conversion:

Next I will show some photos of the Technoservant which also is cast in resin now.

Cheers

More Dread WIP Pictures

Work on the Forgeworld Dreadnought goes steady along, so here some more WIP pictures I took in the meantime.

Here you get a general idea into which direction this conversion is heading - charging straight into the enemy lines, batting resistance aside with his massive  forceshield while punishing the heretics with his brutal energy flail.

The flail:
I will complete the weapon by sculpting on a generator and some tubes to suggest the flail to be an energy weapon. Also the shoulder armor has to be sculpted.

The shield:
Also not quite finished. The lower decoration will be repeated on the other "edges" and some Templar crosses will be sculpted along the border.

The body:
On the body there are still missing some chains and other decorations like purity seals.

I think I will have this one finished soon and can deliver more pictures then.

Stay tuned,

Gregor

Trendy stuff...

...or so it seems, as I have another one of the Forge World Contemptor Dreadnoughts on my workbench.

This one is for another private customer with quite a few more wishes than my first "Contemptor-customer".

These pictures are still very much WIP and there is still a lot to be done.

The goal is to give this Dread a bit the look of a "Deutsch-Orden" Crusader with a whole tunic rather than the "apron" I did for the last Contemptor. Also shall this one be armed with shield and a weapon called "Ochsenherde" which is a flail with three balls and chains.
The Dreadnought will then be used for Black Templars, just like the first one I converted.

Here some pictures:

Apart from that I am sculpting for some companies at the moment but of course I can not reveal anything prior to the release date... ;-)

More pics of the Dread soon to come.

Cheers,

Gregor
